If you were to ever ask me to describe to you London, it would be the cool but biting summer wind in the twilight, the false light and noise. The feeling of a thousand faceless people pressed up against you. London is infamy, credence and not looking twice. It’s the taste of stale smoke, the glance in your peripheral. It’s the wink, the embrace and the smoke afterward all at once.
London is timeless.
And it will always be my home.

Wigan, historically a part of Lancashire in the western Midlands, now belongs to the administrative division of Greater Manchester. This is an ancient place with no less than 216 Listed buildings; in pre-Roman times it was territory of the Celtic Brigantes tribe. The population is 81,000; making it the largest town in England no one outside of the country has ever heard of.
Wigan is justifiably famed for sports- the gynormous DW Stadium is home to both the Wigan Athletic Football Club and the Wigan Warriors Rugby Club, teams in the top-flight national league of their sport. When I googled ‘Wigan’ I found one picture of the town and eighty-seven thousand photographs of sweaty men kicking balls around. By report it is a surprisingly lovely place; with fabulous architecture, great shopping, and the breathtaking Pennine mountain range standing majestically in the background. (wiganworld.co.uk)
